The Department of Agricultural Economics is one of 12 academic units in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The department’s faculty, staff, and students work alongside and collaborate with other faculty members, staff members, and students at the university to develop solutions to agriculture and natural resource problems. The department is making an impact on the production of food, fuel, feed, and fiber and the use of our natural resources in addressing the current and future needs in Nebraska and around the world.
The mission of the department is to improve decision-making by public officials, private producers and agribusiness leaders by giving them economics information, insights, analytical tools, and skills that are not otherwise available. The faculty, staff, and students have expertise that is essential in solving a myriad of issues from resource allocation to rural development.
