This badge explores aspects of cultural awareness, openness, and identity that are foundational to concepts of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI).
Intended Outcomes (measured through reflection and post-assessment):
- Participants will be able to define and explain the concepts of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI).
- Participants will be able to identify types of bias and stereotypes, and apply strategies for addressing these stereotypes.
- Participants will be able to connect and integrate JEDI concepts to their personal understanding of identity and lived experiences.
Items participants will accomplish:
- Pre-Assessment (ask for participants’ schedules to set up trainings (have them rank), ask in-person or virtual preference)
- Sessions (one every 3 weeks):
- 1. OUCH! Training (OASIS)
- 2. Social Justice Training (LGBTQ+ Center)
- Diversity & Inclusion Basics Training (OASIS)
- If either session has been completed previously, must provide evidence that they completed the training(s) in the last year (since Fall 2020). Diversity & Inclusion Basics Trainings will be offered as an alternative IF they would not like to repeat the session.
