JEDI Digital Badge

This badge explores aspects of cultural awareness, openness, and identity that are foundational to concepts of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI).

Intended Outcomes (measured through reflection and post-assessment):

  • Participants will be able to define and explain the concepts of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI).
  • Participants will be able to identify types of bias and stereotypes, and apply strategies for addressing these stereotypes.
  • Participants will be able to connect and integrate JEDI concepts to their personal understanding of identity and lived experiences.

Items participants will accomplish:

  • Pre-Assessment (ask for participants’ schedules to set up trainings (have them rank), ask in-person or virtual preference)
  • Sessions (one every 3 weeks):
    • 1. OUCH! Training (OASIS)
    • 2. Social Justice Training (LGBTQ+ Center)
    • Diversity & Inclusion Basics Training (OASIS)
      • If either session has been completed previously, must provide evidence that they completed the training(s) in the last year (since Fall 2020). Diversity & Inclusion Basics Trainings will be offered as an alternative IF they would not like to repeat the session.
  • Post-Assessment
  • Capstone Reflection
