International, domestic students gather to talk global issues

The Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources’ (IANR) Global Engagement office, in partnership with the Agricultural Education, Leadership and Communication (ALEC) Department recently gathered students from four countries across multiple continents for a dialogue on pressing global issues. The event was held as part of the Agriculture and Innovation Seminar programming for the Argentina Friends of Fulbright student group in their last week of their stay at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).

Research fellowship program in India: student opportunity

Water is a vital necessity for human development, the environment and the economy. Because of its global importance, the Government of India and its Department of Science and Technology (DST), the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute (DWFI) and the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum have partnered to foster cooperation between students and scientists from both countries.

Nebraska Agronomist Ken Cassman honored by Swedish Academy of Sciences

The Swedish Academy of Sciences has named University of Nebraska-Lincoln agronomist Kenneth Cassman the recipient of the 2017 Bertebos Prize for promoting education and research in the food chain.

The Bertebos Prize is awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry and is sometimes referred to by scientists as Sweden’s “Nobel Prize in Agriculture.”
