Global Research Update: Indonesia
Associate professor of agronomy and horticulture Patricio Grassini continues his long-term work with Indonesian partners with a roundtable in the nation's capital around balanced plant nutrition for rice, maize, and palm. The meeting in Jakarta included representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Infrastructure, fertilizer industry representatives, as well as researchers from the University of Nebraska and other universities and research organizations.
Topics of discussion included how the funding from the UNL-led project can help current fertilizer subsidy programs become more effective at removing nutrient deficiencies in smallholder fields.
